Explore heads Up the Creek this Sunday 9 December.
For our last high tide exploration of 2018 we’re paddling the creek from Whitford to Eastern Beach on Sunday morning. From Whitford’s semi rural setting we’ll head out through the mangroves at high tide and meander down the creek as it opens out past Ward Island. Looking out into the harbour and Motuihe Island we’ll paddle along the Cockle Bay and Howick coastline to Eastern Beach. It’s a lovely paddle of around 10km with some help from the outgoing tide.
As it’s a one way paddle, we’ll be organising shared transport so please book in if you are joining us so we can plan for transportation. Use your class passes or $40 pp (with board hire included if you need it) and we’d love to see as many of you as can make it.
Booking by Friday 7 December is essential for this Explore to enable us to organise shared transport.

About PaddleFit Explore
Get a taste of the adventure, freedom and connection that's right on our doorsteps when you join your paddling buddies on the water for PaddleFit Explore. The longer session helps you to test your paddling skills and fitness and take in more of the beautiful Auckland coastline. We’ll change the location slightly each week to make the most of the conditions.
This class is recommended as a four-week program to improve your paddle fitness and skills in different ways. Each week we'll do a good warm up and cool down, and in between progressively build our distances (or skills). But casuals are welcome.
Some paddling experience is required.
Allow two-hours. All ability levels are catered for. We’ve allowed for splitting this class into a faster and slower group and will run a shorter and longer distance option each week.
We usually base ourselves at The Landing, Okahu Bay- but be ready to explore other nearby locations to suit the weather conditions and provide a change of scenery. We'll give you as much notice of any location changes as we can. Other possible locations include under the road and up Meadowbank Creek, Along the Waterfront, to Devonport and back, under the Harbour Bridge, or Lighthouse to Lighthouse.
We’ll also try to include a down-wind point to point paddle if wind conditions permit.
In these group sessions you'll have support and encouragement from PaddleFit Pro Coaches Helen Blair and Victoria Stuart.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to text or call Helen 021 289 0221 or Vic 021 644129.
